Contemp Brit Novels: Presentations

I would like the presentations in this class to improve. Thus I’m going to slightly change the presentation format and requirements to make the presentations easier but also more useful and interesting, so that we use class time better. Effective immediately:

  • Not every team member needs to speak in the presentation.
  • I want presentations to address and answer one of the questions listed in the blog topics (one per group). Too many presentations are summarizing or describing the text without giving any original thought or opinions.
  • Presentations should be limited to 6-10 minutes.
  • No reading off paper will be allowed.

British Literature to 1900: Revised Schedule

  • Note that presentations for Pride and Prejudice will now be on April 28. I’ll post topics soon.
  • I’m going to cancel the second required in-class presentation for the course. The only remaining presentation project is the podcast. Any group which already presented twice is excused from the podcast project. (If they want to as an extra credit, see me.)
  • Effective immediately, I’m going to cap presentations at 10 minutes. As of now, no reading off papers or screens will be allowed!
