| The Canadian province of B.C., British Columbia, is also called "Bring Cash"; it’s not cheap. But it’s one of my favorite places, and I’d happily live in Vancouver if everyone else didn’t also want to. Mild climate, ocean waves and beaches, mountains and skiing, all within an afternoon’s drive. As with any west coast city it’s sprawled out and public transportation is mediocre, but if you can adapt to west coast casualness you will get places eventually. Inland B.C. is surprisingly hot; it was 39° when I was in Castlegar in July 2015. Again, Canada’s not always wintry! |
